The Importance of Water Management in Ukraine’s Reconstruction: Insights from the “Water Recovery Forum”
April 16, 2026

Water management is a key infrastructure sector on which public health, environmental protection, quality of life, and economic stability depend, which is why its restoration in Ukraine is a priority.
Here’s the English translation. I kept it fairly faithful to the original, because apparently humans enjoy long official paragraphs that reproduce by mitosis.
Vandentvarka is one of the most important infrastructure sectors, directly affecting public health, environmental protection, and quality of life. Water supply and wastewater management systems also have a direct impact on the country’s economic stability and the sustainable development of cities and regions. Efficiently functioning water supply and wastewater management solutions ensure safe drinking water, proper wastewater treatment, a clean living environment, and the protection of ecosystems. For these reasons, when it comes to the reconstruction of crisis-affected countries, water management systems become a priority, as without them it is impossible to restore public services, rebuild cities, or achieve long-term economic recovery. Ukraine, which is currently being devastated by war, is facing these very challenges. Taking into account the complexity of the situation, the international conference “Rebuilt Ukraine” was initiated, with one of its components being the water infrastructure restoration forum “Water Recovery Forum”.
The main purpose of this forum was the restoration and protection of water infrastructure. It was an event of particular importance, bringing together representatives of the water management sector, the public sector, and international organizations; UAB Teisa representatives also took part in it. During the forum, topics such as water resource recovery, wastewater treatment, infrastructure resilience, financing, and the application of innovative technologies were discussed. The main objective of the event was to promote dialogue among decision-makers, experts, and investors in search of sustainable solutions for the restoration and modernization of water management systems. The large number of forum participants highlighted the importance of this sector in the broader context of international cooperation, and for UAB Teisa it was an opportunity to present itself as a significant market player with many years of expert experience in this field, as well as to promote not only its own name, but also the name of Lithuania.
UAB Teisa’s activities began specifically with water management projects, which is why this field is particularly familiar to us. Over the years of the company’s operations, more than 25 kilometers of water supply networks and more than 43 kilometers of wastewater collection networks have been laid, and nearly 5 million in investments have been attracted to water management projects. We continuously work with the largest water suppliers in Lithuania, and this experience allows us to confidently build new partnerships, share knowledge with water management specialists from other countries, as well as with representatives of states and institutions.
Participation in events of this kind helps create comprehensive benefits and ensures the successful implementation of common goals, the sustainable use of investments, and long-term partnerships. Gatherings of this type help not only to better prepare for the reconstruction of Ukraine, but also to prepare for possible crises in our own country. They provide an opportunity to become familiar with innovations both in the field of EU funding and in technological solutions for process optimization. Only by taking an interest in the practices of other countries can we keep pace with technological progress in the water management sector, while emerging connections, the sharing of experience, and jointly initiated initiatives create the conditions for sustainable solutions, increased national resilience, infrastructure restoration, and the creation of a safe future.
